Editor’s Note: History should record that the birth of the 99% Movement was on September 17, 2011. That was when the movement became a household name known to the masses. However, the 99% Movement was conceived exactly two years ago, with the release of an online report and call to action titled “The Economic Elite Vs. The People of the United States of America.” The report was originally released as a six-part series. The first part was published on February 15, 2010 and the last part was published on February 27, 2010.

To celebrate the two year anniversary, we are reissuing the report with a new introduction recapping the history and evolution of the movement, from the experience of researching and writing the original call to action, to building up the movement online and organizing occupations worldwide. At the end of the book, we feature statements from occupiers, organizers and supporters of the 99%.

Note: I decided to take some quick notes of what it’s like to spend a few hours at Liberty Park for people who haven’t experienced it yet. Please forgive any spelling or grammar errors. This was written quickly with a hundred other things going on.

Where’s Hunter S. Thompson when you need him? The beautiful, brilliant madness that is OccupyWallStreet’s Liberty Park is a Hunter-esque paradise. Perhaps he could best make sense of what’s happening. The scene on the ground here also echoes Bob Dylan’s classic, “Ballad Of A Thin Man.”

The government continues to pump out propaganda on vital economic statistics that mask the severity of our economic crisis. Bogus inflation, unemployment, poverty and GDP measures to cast the illusion of recovery are easily exposed with some research and a closer look at the data. The GDP measure is a horribly flawed indicator of real economic growth, but the latest GDP revisions from the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) are an incredibly bad. And that’s saying a lot because the government’s “revisions” are always for the worse and usually just a footnote correction that the public rarely ever gets to see.

Most readers here already know that Obama and the Democrats are bankster puppets. However, there are still many who haven’t done much research and cling to the “hope” that maybe, just maybe, Obama and the Democrats will save us. They’re at least better than those crazy Republicans, right? No! As bad as Bush was, he would have never been able to get away with half the things Obama gets away with just because he’s a smooth talker with a “D” on his chest. Anyone who has any understanding of economics knows that the fix was in as soon as Geithner and Summers came on board. And then, the icing on the cake, he brings in JP Morgan thug Bill Daley as Chief of Staff.

For those unaware / delusional people, here is more evidence to place on top of the mountain. Bill Daley’s former policy group, Third Way, just released a new paper advocating on behalf of the “too big to fail” banks.
