If you have been following my reporting throughout the years, you know that I have been battling against censorship & suppression. When you report on systemic corruption in a way that unites people with opinions across the political spectrum, the most powerful people on the planet try to marginalize & silence you - and with large social media platforms and Google's online dominance, algorithmic suppression has become increasingly sophisticated & effective. Ultimately, they try to undermine people's ability to make a living as investigative journalists while promoting divisive partisanship, which is a major reason why people have become so divided, confused and frustrated.

Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. When I was at the University of Oklahoma, I had a roommate who was a journalist major. One day he told me that Allen Ginsberg was visiting the campus and was going to speak that night to the public, but earlier in the day he would be meeting one on one with journalist students or anyone that just wanted to show up and hang out for a while. I was a free thinker in certain ways, but kind of indifferent when it came to world events or politics. When I asked him about what was wrong with the world, I was approaching that from a more spiritual perspective based on my life experience. He was very intense with his answer and it is the same kind of answer that he would probably give today. People need to ‘wake up’ and get more active and involved in their own country’s issues. He shared this with such passion that I not only recall that experience as meeting the first openly gay person, but even more so he was probably the first person to inspire me to begin to at least think about being more proactive. Thank you David for all that you do. Let’s help move the momentum forward!
Thank you so very much for this poem, David. Absolutely brilliant! But it’s true, David, isn’t it? We’ve become a generation of passive observers instead of shakers and movers even while our bed is burning with us in it. What is it going to take to galvanize us into action? How much more do we have to lose? Where are the people of courage and conviction? And if we do rebel and many of us die fighting for what we believe in; are we playing right into their hands as I’ve heard they want a cap on a stable population of around 500,000,000?
Nothing much has changed in these few thousands of years of so-called civilization we’re aware of. Still bread and circuses. Keep the masses of sheeple reasonably fed and entertained. Make them work harder and longer than ever for a dwindling wage (inflation) so that they have no time to foster critical thinking. The technology has changed but the methods for keeping the masses controlled have just gotten more efficient. And more sinister and more subtle. Shades of “The Matrix”. You need to watch that movie very carefully. There are many hidden, subtle truths in it and the only way they could get that message to the people is by way of a fictional movie.
The biggest problem is that THEY are organized and have the better weapons and we aren’t and don’t. If there is to be a successful rebellion then we need to be very well prepared and EVERY single person on the planet needs to be united in a common cause. There’s the rub, isn’t it?
Also reminds me of the song “All Along the Watchtower”. Another person trying to get the truth out.
These lyrics are especially telling to me:
” “No reason to get excited,”
The thief, he kindly spoke
“There are many here among us
Who feel that life is but a joke
But you and I, we’ve been through that
And this is not our fate
So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late”.
And the hour is getting very late isn’t it?
Ahhh, Hendrix…THANK YOU.
[…] The Beaten Masses & Mass Disaster […]
I’ll be the elder I’m 68 and look around at a Nation run amuck? We marched we protested and we objected, then we started family’s. I left the states for the Caribbean and came back in the late seventy’s and the elites had started their quite march using liberals like myself. I resisted the silly page and voted for Ross Perot My wages remained steady through out my wage earning life because I was in Sales. A friend said five years age you do very well at which I laughed “I am making what I made thirty five years ago!! Yes is was decent but being commissions based and thirty eight per cent tax I ran harder and produced more and got less………. That is not the issue the issue is anyone who looked could see that the only way the middle stayed even was through their house. The house became an investment not a home!!
Anyway we have been lied to and cheated by Globalism who seem to hate America. And own our government for the most part . We have been divided and that’s the plan!! I will be going to my state capital on 7/4/13 to join Adam Kolish who has called for a march on all state capitals, I agree time for a ” regime change ” both party’s are one with some exceptions, Warren , Grayson, Sanders and others the rest need to fine another job…..One of my hero’s is Chris Hodges who was on Alex Jones infowars as was Max Kiser two liberals and Alex being the kind of man I used to laugh at . I’m listening to him now ! And when those three very different folks get together we can make a difference One thing I know is between those and hopefully Dylan Ratigan will join we have a force that crosses age, income, social lines ………see “calling all rebals” it’s fun and said’s it all.
Dave, you hit the nail on the head with every line. What I especially like is that you have tied together all the evil that Ginsberg saw in the fifties with what is happening now. If only more attention had been paid to what he said then, and if only his whole generation had been disdained as “beatnicks” maybe we wouldn’t be in the predicament we are in now. As a retired college professor it is with deep distress and pain I see what is happening to the present generation locked in debt up to their ears, when, truly, it is society who owes a debt to them.
Education is free in Finland and some other Scandinavian countries and their results are the best in the world.
Our dysfunctional institutions are unable to cope with or even recognize the challenges that face us, so there is no
reason to expect much improvement.
Maybe a really concerted internet action could shake things up.
Removing Republican obstruction could be helpful. See http://www.seconnecticut.com/vetorepublicans.html

I am absolutely convinced that no amount of wealth in the world can help humanity move forward–even in the hands of the most devoted worker. The example of great and pure individuals is the only thing that can lead us to noble thoughts and deeds. Money only appeals to selfishness and irresistibly invites abuse. Can anyone imagine Moses, Jesus, or Ghandi armed with the money-bags of Carnegie?
